SkyAlign Makes Setting Up Your Telescope Quick and Easy

Another technology included with the Celestron NexStar 130SLT computerized telescope is SkyAlign. You just need to input some information into the telescope, such as date, time and GPS location, then point it at any three objects. This is a simple way to align the device and is ideal for both beginners and experienced users.

General Celestron NexStar 130SLT Computerized Telescope Information

This product is a Newtonian reflector telescope. That means it utilizes two mirrors, one concave and the other flat. This type is popular with beginner astronomers because it has a simple design that provides high-quality images at affordable prices. This design also ensures a sharp, clear view of larger but more distant objects and experiences fewer optical irregularities than some other types of telescopes.

Technical Specifications for Advanced Beginners

All telescopes function by transmitting as much available light as possible to the eyes by the use of lenses and mirrors - simple enough. However, like the f5 focal ratio that helps to provide relatively bright images, there are some factors that contribute to your Celestron NexStar telescope's optical performance:

  • 650 mm focal length
  • 130 mm aperture
  • 9 and 25 mm included eyepiece lenses
  • 9 slew speeds
  • A motorized altazimuth mount

The Celestron NexStar 130SLT computerized telescope is also compatible with 2-inch eyepieces. This addition offers advantages, including:

  • More comfortable viewing
  • A wider field of vision
  • Easier locating of distant objects
